Vintage Lido table lamp in mouth-blown glass (height 41 cm) designed in the early 1980s. This lamp was manufactured by Peill & Putzler and won a design award (Bundenspreis Gute Form) in 1982.
The lamp features a motif with speckled black and red stripes running straight through the lamp. Inside, there is an E27 socket bearing the manufacturer's sticker.
The lamp is in very beautiful vintage condition with no damage to the glass.
Peill & Son was founded in 1903 and merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947, continuing under the name ‘Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke’. Throughout its existence, the company collaborated with both important designers and other companies such as Raak Amsterdam and Massive. At its peak (the 1950s), approximately 1,500 people worked for the company. In 2004, a year after their 100th anniversary, the company was unfortunately declared bankrupt.
