This rug is a great example of 1950s pop art interior. Made in high quality finish Rya handmade weaving technique. Made by Finnrya Oy AB in Finland in the 1950s, it is made of 100% wool. It features an abstract floral illustration in ochre, green tones. It was designed by the textile designer Ritva Puotila, which is indicted on the label.
An interesting piece for every modern home in a lovely vintage condition. Would fit well in any home with 1950s-1970s decor or in combination with modern midcentury interior.
This rug was purchased by the prior owner in 1955 in Helsinki, Finland. It was always used as a wall rug object, so this object is still in a perfect condition, due to the age with little patina.
