This Pastoe wall unit is a separate element from the iconic Made to Measure series, a modular cabinet system designed by Cees Braakman in the 1950s and 1960s.
This unit was originally part of a larger wall unit. Therefore, there are mounting holes on the sides, and three original connecting pins and wooden connectors protrude from the right and top right sides. These are characteristic of the modular system and can be removed if desired, or simply hidden from view by positioning the unit against a wall.
The unit is made of white and wenge wood veneer with a beautiful, warm grain and is in very sturdy and beautiful condition. There is minor damage to the veneer on the left door and a small spot on the right side; this is barely noticeable and does not detract from the appearance. All parts of the unit are original and are marked "Pastoe" in various places.
Thanks to its modular design, the unit is fully disassembled and easy to transport and assemble. A beautiful and timeless piece of Dutch design that fits effortlessly into both mid-century and modern interiors.
