This iconic vintage vase was designed in the 1950s by ceramist Wim Visser for the Atelier voor Kunstaardewerk of De Sphinx in Maastricht. The design stands out due to its vibrant, glossy turquoise glaze and the characteristic horizontal ribbed pattern, also known as ringware.
The vase is crafted from glazed ceramic and finished with a refined gold-colored rim along the opening, creating an elegant appearance. The object has a height of 20 centimeters and a diameter of approximately 18 to 19 centimeters. The original blind factory mark of De Sphinx is located on the bottom, along with model number 450 and the height indication 20.
The piece is in good vintage condition, with the character of the mid-century design well preserved. The authentic details and original finish bear witness to the rich history of Dutch ceramic production.
This decorative object looks excellent in a retro, Hollywood Regency, or modern eclectic interior. It forms a striking accent on a sideboard or side table and combines effortlessly with other vintage or contemporary home accessories.
