This vintage swivel armchair was designed by Jan des Bouvrie for the Dutch manufacturer Gelderland. The design combines a sleek, modernist form with a comfortable, inviting seat, characteristic of the Dutch Design tradition.
The armchair is constructed from a chrome-plated tubular frame resting on an elegant star-shaped swivel base. The seat, backrest, and armrests are upholstered in a mottled, light green (mint) fabric with a subtle texture. The backrest features classic button tufting, which gives the design extra character.
The furniture is in very neat condition, consistent with careful use. The upholstery is intact and the chrome frame has retained its original shine.
This armchair fits perfectly into a modern, Scandinavian, or vintage-inspired interior. It is an ideal piece of furniture for a reading nook or as a striking addition to a seating area.
