This set of two vintage Spanish Talavera ceramic plates exemplifies the traditional majolica technique. The hand-painted floral motifs and distinct colour palette make these decorative objects highly characteristic of their regional origin. Then bigger one, 26,5 cm in diameter, is hand-signed on the reverse by Alfar El Carmen (Talavera El Carmen). The other one, 22 cm in diameter, is hand-signed on the reverse by Carpicena (Carpicena Talavera 26). Crafted from ceramic, each plate features a unique hand-painted design in a multi-colour palette that includes blue, yellow, and pink tones on a white ground. The larger plate displays a scalloped edge with intricate border detailing, while the smaller plate features a classic circular form with a leaf-patterned rim. Both pieces are signed on the reverse, indicating their authentic Spanish provenance. The plates remain in very good condition, retaining their original hand-painted finish and vibrant colours. The character of the majolica glaze is well preserved, reflecting the artisanal nature of their production. These decorative plates are well suited for display in a rustic or Mediterranean-inspired interior. They can be hung as wall decoration or presented on a sideboard to add a touch of traditional craftsmanship to the space. As seen on the photos, there are some small pinholes, completely normal part of the ancient firing (baking) process for hand-crafted majolica ceramics. Also a glaze skip is perceivable on the smaller plate, on the inner yellow accent ring.
