This vintage wall lamp by the Belgian manufacturer Massive is a striking piece of lighting from the late twentieth century. The design is strongly inspired by the iconic 'Applique à volet orientable' by Charlotte Perriand, where the characteristic functionality has been translated into an accessible and playful pop art design. The lamp is crafted from red lacquered metal and features a rectangular, manually tiltable shade. This mechanism allows the user to adjust the light intensity as desired, ranging from direct reading light to soft, indirect mood lighting. The fixture is fitted with an E14 socket, suitable for a maximum load of 40W, and operates on 230V. An elongated tubular bulb or small LED spotlight is recommended to allow the shade to be fully closed. The object is in excellent, virtually unused condition, with the original red lacquer layer having fully retained its shine. The original wiring and the Massive brand label are still intact and clearly legible. This wall lamp comes into its own particularly well in a bedroom as a bedside lamp, or as a colorful accent in a modern or eclectic living space. The vibrant red design adds a characteristic vintage element to any interior.
