This vintage sideboard is a design by William Watting for the Dutch furniture manufacturer Fristho. The piece is a characteristic example of the 'Modulus' series, known for its clean lines and modular approach, an icon of mid-20th century Dutch Design. The sideboard is made of teak, combined with contrasting white lacquered drawer fronts. The construction rests on elegant, V-shaped metal legs and is finished with brass-colored details along the edges, creating a refined look. The round, inlaid wooden handles are a subtle yet defining detail of the design. The layout consists of a cabinet section with an internal shelf and three spacious drawers. The sideboard has been recently restored and the overall condition of the piece is very good, with a character appropriate for its age. The woodwork has a deep, original luster and the construction is solid and fully functional. The piece demonstrates the quality and craftsmanship for which Fristho was known in the 1960s.
