This vintage sideboard is a design by William Watting for the Dutch furniture manufacturer Fristho. The piece is a characteristic example of Dutch mid-century design, combining clean lines with a mix of materials. This specific model, from the 'Modulus' series, stands out with its contrasting fronts and elegant, minimalist base. The cabinet is made from a combination of wood and metal. The carcass and top have a warm, rich wood grain, while the doors and drawer fronts are in bright white. The sideboard stands on slender, V-shaped metal legs that give the furniture a floating appearance. The storage space is divided into two cabinet sections with doors on the sides and a block of three drawers in the middle, creating a symmetrical and functional layout. The sideboard has been recently restored and its overall condition is very good, with a character appropriate for its age. The original finish has been preserved and shows a patina that tells the story of the piece. The construction is solid, and all parts, including the original handles and internal shelving, are present and functional.
