Vintage Shou Xing (Shou Lao) wooden figure. This figure is a wooden carving of Shou Xing (also known as Shou Lao), the Chinese god of longevity. He is one of the three "lucky stars" (San Xing), along with Fu and Lu. The figure displays the classic iconography associated with Shou Xing: High forehead: His strikingly high, bald forehead symbolizes wisdom and a long life. Staff: He often leans on a gnarled staff, emphasizing his role as one of the immortals. Peach: In his hand, he usually holds a "peach of immortality," a powerful symbol for eternal life in Chinese mythology. Long beard: The long, flowing beard represents his old age and venerability.
