Ivan Per Erik Jordell, born July 19, 1901 in Katrineholm, died September 7, 1965 in Malmö, was a Swedish painter.Jordell studied at the Skånska målarskolan in 1930-1931, but was otherwise self-taught. His motifs were mainly figurative, still life, cityscapes and people. In dark colors and a rough, heavy form, he depicted lonely people in a proletarian environment, including circus performers, street girls and gypsies.Jordell held his first exhibition at the Malmö Museum in 1932, and then for years he participated in group exhibitions with the Skåne Art Association and in solo exhibitions at the Gothenburg Art Gallery. In the 1940s, in addition to oil painting, he worked in tempera. From 1937 he was a member of the art group Aura.He is represented at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kulturen Malmö Museum, Göteborgs Konstmuseum, Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, Norrköping Konstmuseum and Ystads Konstmuseum.
