Vintage Porcelain Hutschenreuther H. Achtziger Vase
This magnificent vase comes from Bavaria, Germany. This vintage vase was produced by the renowned Hutschenreuther porcelain family. The company has existed since 1814 and is still in production today.
The vase is made of bisque porcelain, also known as biscuit. Bisque is unglazed porcelain, which gives it a distinctive character. Because bisque porcelain is much more fragile than glazed porcelain, it is primarily intended as a decorative object.
The vase was designed by the German Hans Achtziger (1914-2000). He was an independent ceramist and porcelain designer who joined the Hutschenreuther company as art director. Hans Achtziger was known as an innovator in porcelain, combining traditional materials with a contemporary aesthetic. He thus elevated everyday objects to art objects!
The vase is in excellent vintage condition! The vase is signed by the artist, stamped, and numbered "6265."
