For sale is an absolute design classic of Italian glass art. The high-quality craftsmanship and typical design speak for themselves – the lamp is very likely by Mazzega (Carlo Nason era). What appears to be worn, smoke, or rust in the iron is intentionally styled to look like soot. The lamp was purchased from the same shop as our squid lamp. (Please inquire if interested; I haven't taken any photos yet, but it is also being sold due to a household clearance.) The heavy, mouth-blown shade captivates with its textured, frosted glass appearance and the striking, wavy rim with an intensely luminous, amber-orange vein of glass. The glass is encased in a solid, artfully forged iron cage with ornate volutes, suspended from a sturdy chain. A beautiful, warm play of light that instantly lends character to any room.
