For sale is a striking vintage statement necklace from the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA) collection, featuring the popular Egyptian Revival style.
The large rectangular pendant depicts a finely crafted scene in the ancient Egyptian style, with figures/deities rendered in relief. Measuring approximately 5.7 x 3.7 cm, the pendant makes a bold statement and is particularly decorative – a beautiful collector's item for lovers of museum jewelry, Egyptian Revival design, and distinctive vintage pieces.
A special detail is the accompanying chain, which is hallmarked "1/20 12K GF." GF stands for Gold Filled – a process in which a thicker layer of 12-karat gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal. Gold Filled is of higher quality and more durable than simple gold plating.
