This vintage table lamp was manufactured by Potterie de Schuur, a well-known name in Dutch ceramics history. The design is characterized by a robust earthenware base combined with a striking, coarsely woven shade that provides a warm light diffusion.
The lamp consists of a ceramic base in a soft, cream-colored hue with subtle horizontal ridges on the underside. The shade is made of an open-weave textile, which adds an organic and tactile element to the whole. The underside of the base is signed 'de Schuur', confirming its provenance. The lamp is equipped with a cord featuring an integrated switch. The original ungrounded plug has been replaced with a grounded one.
The object is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The original finish of both the ceramic base and the woven shade has been well preserved, contributing to the lamp's authentic character.
This table lamp looks excellent in a mid-century modern or rustic interior. It is a stylish addition to a sideboard, side table, or nightstand, where the soft light creates an inviting ambiance.
