This vintage scissor lamp is a recognizable design by H.Th.A. Busquet for the Dutch manufacturer Hala Zeist, dating from the Mid-Century Modern period. The design combines functionality with a distinct industrial aesthetic, characteristic of post-war Dutch Design.
The lamp is crafted from metal and features a striking red, conical shade. An iconic detail of this design is the series of subtle perforations along the edge of the shade, which create an atmospheric lighting effect when the lamp is switched on. The shade is attached to an extendable scissor mechanism, allowing the beam of light to be easily adjusted. A copper-colored ball joint directly behind the shade offers the ability to precisely direct the light beam.
