Product description
A charming vintage armchair crafted from solid teak with an original rattan seat and backrest. The design exudes Scandinavian mid-century modern style from the 1950s and 1960s and is comparable to Danish designs from that period.
The teak frame is in good, solid condition. The rattan seat shows some damage in places, consistent with the chair's age, and requires repair or replacement by a reupholsterer.
For the restoration of the rattan seat, I requested a quote from a restorer specializing in this type of chair. Because the seat carries the most weight, restoration is recommended. The cost of restoration is between €165 and €225.
Comparable armchairs in fully intact condition are offered at design and vintage stores for €500-€600.
