These unique, characterful chairs have it all: a timeless silhouette, stylish metal legs and a sturdy seat. They're just waiting for a new look!
I bought the chairs 25 years ago from the inventory of an interior textile wholesaler - a place where icons such as Pastoe Tulip chairs, Cees Braakman (Pastoe) cabinets and other fine designer furniture also had their home.
The exact designer has unfortunately remained a mystery, but the design exudes the style of the 1960s/70s and is strongly reminiscent of classics by Artifort, Gispen or even the Deauville armchairs by Pierre Gautier Delaye (Airborne).
The chairs need to be reupholstered, but they are well worth it because the quality of the frame is really top notch. The metal base is very sturdy and still in good condition. The wooden shell, extra support in the back, comfortable cushions and wide armrests make for a great seating experience. I have used them as dining chairs for many years and believe me....you are sure to linger for hours after a dinner party when you sit in these.
So give them a refresh with your favorite fabric, and you'll have real vintage gems in your home that you'll enjoy for years to come - perfect for the dining room, home office or a stylish nook in your home.
