This beautiful vintage wooden statue is an example of an abstract sculpture often associated with the Scandinavian style. This lovely human figure is hand-carved and is characterized by slender, flowing lines and a minimalist form.
The statue bears a strong resemblance to religious or maternal figures, such as a Madonna with folded hands or an abstract representation of the female body.
Crafted from solid wood, I believe light oak. The natural grain of the wood has been used to accentuate the form.
The statue is signed with ‘PL 92’ and on what appears to be a four-leaf clover. This artist is unknown to me.
In neat condition.
