Product description
Original IKEA PLIGG pendant lamp from the 1970s in vibrant yellow. This model was already featured in the 1976 IKEA catalog and was manufactured for IKEA by Gnosjö Konstsmide AB in Sweden.
The flat, yellow-painted metal shade with a white interior and black plastic elements embodies typical Scandinavian design of the 1970s. Its clean lines combine Scandi design, mid-century modern, and space-age influences, making the lamp a striking vintage accent.
A unique original detail is the on/off switch located on the outside of the socket. The white interior reflects the light downwards, creating a pleasant, cozy ambiance – ideal above a small dining table, in the kitchen, or as a statement piece in the living room.
The original IKEA box with model and manufacturer information is also included.
Condition
Used vintage condition with visible signs of wear and storage consistent with its age.
The yellow metal shade shows some cloudy or patchy paint irregularities, minor scratches, and a few fine marks in the paint. The white-painted interior has small chips and paint chips along the edge.
The black lamp socket has scratches and age-related oxidation and corrosion on the metal parts. The plastic ceiling canopy is slightly deformed and scratched at the top. The original box shows clear signs of storage, soiling, and age.
The light fixture has been tested and is functional. The side-mounted on/off switch is also working. Due to the age of the electrical components, a professional inspection is recommended before permanent use.
