A unique find for the enthusiast of Mid-Century, Eastern European design, and vintage textile art. This hand-woven Polish tapestry (makata) named "Beskidzka" is in absolute mint condition (New Old Stock / Deadstock). The tapestry was manufactured in May 1988 by the artisanal cooperative Sztuka Beskidzka under the strictly curated state supervision of Cepelia. What makes this piece museum-worthy is that the original paper label remains intact after nearly 40 years and is attached to the tapestry with the original string. This serves as an irrefutable certificate of authenticity. The textile has never been used, washed, or exposed to sunlight. The colors are deep, and the hand-twisted fringes on the sides are completely intact, lint-free, and undamaged. The geometric stripe pattern in earthy tones (cream, brown, and grey) fits perfectly into a modern, Scandinavian, Boho, or Japandi interior.
