Stunning Gouda earthenware bowl / tureen from the 1960s.
Gouda earthenware is the collective name for painted and glazed decorative ceramics, made in the Dutch city of Gouda. Gouda had several factories, of which the Royal Earthenware Factory Zuid-Holland was the largest. In 1930, the factory obtained the designation 'Royal' and the official name became 'N.V. Royal Earthenware Factory Zuid-Holland'. In the mid-1960s, the factory ceased to exist because artisanal craftsmanship could no longer compete with factory production.
This bowl features a gold rim, starburst motifs, and is in perfect vintage condition.
Beautiful on any table, also purely as decoration.
