Vintage French Faience Oyster Plate – Moustiers Style (c. 1940)
Bring classic French elegance to your table with this beautiful vintage oyster plate. This serving platter is handmade around 1940 in the refined Moustiers style, most likely originating from the historic pottery village of Martres-Tolosane, France.
The platter features six shell-shaped compartments surrounding a central section. Each section is hand-painted with deep cobalt blue details on a creamy white glaze. The design alternates graceful birds with outstretched wings with delicate floral motifs, finished with a wavy, scalloped edge. Perfect for serving fresh oysters and seafood, or as a unique decorative piece on the wall in a country or Mediterranean kitchen. Specifications:
