Product description
A characterful vintage Flamingo coffee table, designed by Thomas Jelinek for IKEA in the 1970s. The design combines the clean lines of the era with a striking contrast of black wood and chrome-plated steel.
The curved frame made of chrome-plated steel tubing is particularly distinctive, its softly rounded corners defining the entire construction of the table. The generous black tabletop has rounded corners and a subtly visible wood grain that adds depth to the dark surface.
Below the tabletop is a second black shelf, providing additional space for magazines, books, or other items. The surrounding tubular frame visually connects the two levels, giving the table a light and open appearance despite its generous dimensions.
Four small chrome-plated metal casters allow for easy movement of the table and simultaneously emphasize the functional nature of the design. The combination of black and gleaming chrome lends the piece the typical modern aesthetic of the 1970s.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. The black wooden surfaces show slight surface wear. The chrome-plated steel tube frame and casters exhibit some minor age-related wear in places.
