An exceptionally well-preserved vintage drum table in the English Regency style, combining an elegant, classical appearance with practical functionality.
The circular tabletop features an inset leather writing surface in a warm brown tone, decorated with delicate gold tooling around the edge and an ornamental motif at the centre.
The drum-shaped body incorporates four functional radial drawers, each fitted with decorative ring handles. The drawers provide convenient storage for writing accessories, books and other smaller objects.
The table rests on an elegantly turned central column with four curved legs, finished with decorative metal caps and small castors – characteristic details that give the piece its distinctly English and sophisticated appearance.
The wood appears to be mahogany based on visual inspection. However, there is no confirmed attribution regarding the exact material, manufacturer or designer.
Provenance
According to the previous owners, the table comes from a Berlin diplomat's residence whose interior was furnished during the 1970s.
The apartment was apparently used very little over several decades and was reopened in 2026 almost like a time capsule. As a result, the table has survived in remarkably well-preserved and authentic vintage condition.
Its combination of provenance, condition and classical design makes it particularly suitable for both traditional and eclectic interiors – as a side table, library table, occasional table or distinctive standalone piece.

Condition
Good to very good vintage condition.
The wood, fittings and construction are very well preserved overall. The leather top shows an authentic age- and use-related patina with some superficial signs of wear.
A small area along the edge of the leather surface has been carefully repaired using colour-matched liquid leather. The repair was deliberately kept subtle in order to preserve the original character and appearance of the leather.
