Beautiful and mechanically ingenious mid-century tambour door cabinet, unmistakably a high-quality piece of German office design. The sleek architectural casing and the oak lamellas of the tambour doors are made of warm oak veneer, which beautifully contrasts with the discolored birch wood on the inside. What makes this filing cabinet exceptional is its advanced mechanics: with a turn of the top key, the upper tambour door automatically and smoothly slides up, while the lower tambour door falls down in a controlled manner via a braking system. The mail/letter compartment element is present, and the missing shelves have been skillfully reproduced from high-quality birch plywood with veneered edges, stained to the exact color to seamlessly match the original patina.
