Ulrich Christian "Ueli" Berger was a Swiss artist, product designer, and interior designer. He also taught at ETH Zurich and the École Cantonale d'Art du Valais in Sierre.
Together with his wife Susi Berger-Wayss, he formed the artist and designer couple known as Susi and Ueli Berger. Their creative partnership had a lasting impact on Swiss art and design. The Berger duo strove to combine creativity, innovation, and functionality. In furniture design, they followed the credo: "Only a new idea justifies a new piece of furniture."
Berger's DS80 by De Sede perfectly embodies this design ethos: a sleek and elegant lounge chair paired with a playful, artistic approach. The work is a prime example of modernist design with understatement.
The frame has slight color wear. The leather shows two small spots of damage in the folds on the upper back.
