A desk lamp / picture lamp / piano lamp / reading lamp from the 1960s-1970s by Herda Verlichting in Amsterdam. In very good condition with only minor signs of wear, it comes with the original light switch, plug, and Bakelite socket, and includes the original bar lamp.
The 11 cm long and 2 cm diameter bar lamp can easily be replaced with a narrow LED bulb; these are readily available.
A counterweight is attached to the chrome-plated tube of the lamp. The counterweight can be adjusted using the screw, making the lamp height adjustable (see photos).

Herda Verlichting BV was located in Amsterdam. It was founded in 1946 by Henk and Rob Daniels. The name Herda is an abbreviation of the surnames van Herwaarden and van Daniels. Mr. Herwaarden arranged the permit when the company was founded (which was no easy task just after the war). Herda closed down in 1997.
