Danish vintage modular wall system with eight shelves, designed by Kai Kristiansen. This system is a fine example of high-quality Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century, in which functionality, refined simplicity, and craftsmanship take center stage.
Kai Kristiansen (born in 1929) is an influential Danish designer who was trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he studied under Kaare Klint. In the 1950s and 1960s, he gained international fame with furniture distinguished by its lightweight construction, clean lines, and well-thought-out proportions. Kristiansen managed to combine aesthetics and ease of use in a natural way, making his designs timeless and durable. His work was exported worldwide and is highly appreciated today by enthusiasts and collectors of mid-century modern design.
This modular wall system consists of eight shelves of varying depths, making the system both practical and visually interesting. The variety of dimensions offers space for books, objects, and home accessories, allowing you to arrange the system according to your own preferences. The wall system is in very good vintage condition, with light signs of use consistent with its age. One of the shelves has damage on the side (visible in the photos). The furniture has been carefully inspected and cleaned, ensuring it retains its warm and authentic appearance.
