Christofle ice bucket in silver-plated metal with banded decoration along the rim and ram's heads. Splendid in its workmanship and even more splendid is its patina, evident and very elegant. The handles are made in the shape of a ram, with decorated horns. Great craftsmanship. The bucket has a flared cylindrical shape. This fabulous silver plate Champagne or wine cooler which dates from the mid 20th century is by renowned French silversmith Christofle and is the rare ram''s head design which has 2 beautiful ram''s head side handles with a reeded rim.
Its tall, flared cylindrical body rises gracefully from a circular base, while the sides are adorned with finely detailed ram’s head handles. The sculptural quality of the horns and bearded profiles lends the piece a neoclassical air, echoing motifs beloved in French decorative arts.
