Very nice decorative box by Jean-Michel Frank in straw marquetry dating from the 1930s. Carved in a beech wood entirely covered with a straw marquetry with radiating patterns. It has been fully restored, with some light marks and dents still visible. The yellow velvet fabric inside which was quite damaged has been replaced by a black velvet. The box is unsigned, but really similar in size and pattern to Jean-Michel Frank boxes, including the one sold by Sotheby's on November 21, 2017. A collector's item, perfect as a gift, with a very nice decorative presence.Literature: Leopold Diego Sanchez, "Jean-Michel Frank", Editions du regard, Paris, 1980, model with similar marquetry reproduced p.80.
