Product description
This Bauhaus-style armchair was designed by Erich Dieckmann in Germany during the 1930s. This chair is made from three kinds of materials: rattan, bamboo and metal. The using of high-quality hardwood and cane mat softened the rough geometry of the design. This piece has been preserved in original condition and has not been restored. It has minor cracks and traces of age, e.g. rust on metal parts. Erich Dieckmann studied at the Bauhaus - State School of Crafts, where he became assistant manager of a furniture workshop after Marcel Breuer left. At the Bauhaus School, Erich Dieckmann worked mainly on the development of furniture seat types. Like Marcel Breuer, Dieckmann experimented with steel tubes. Dieckmann’s most important work is standard, simple, wooden furniture. The structure of the seat is strictly geometric, with a frame made of wood, square, arranged at right angles. Another typical feature of Erich Dieckmann’s furniture is the combination of armrests and chair legs into a single structure. Additional measurements: - full unfolded width 141 cm - total height - 108 cm - the width of the armchair - 77 cm - footrest - 60 cm x 36 cm x 36 cm - seat height - 39 cm

Minor cracks, Rust marks on metal parts, Scratches and marks.
