Product description
Beautifully crafted wood base. Stylized structure, fine vertical lines and a careful geometry reminiscent of natural bamboo and its visual lightness. The piece imitates the knots and shapes of bamboo in a very realistic way. The gilding adds sophistication and highlights the ornamental work. Highly functional, the tray is fitted with bronze stops.
Faux bamboo is characteristic of the late Victorian and Chinoiserie styles of the 19th century. This style emerged in Europe as part of a fascination with Asian art and culture. The use of this technique gives an elegant, exotic appearance. This type of object was commonly used in high-end interiors, to house vases, statuettes or flowerpots.
