Original modernist color lithograph signed by prominent Swedish painter and graphic designer Bengt Lindström (1925-2008).The work dates from the 1970s. Handwritten and numbered by the author in the lower part. The lithograph is framed. Bengt Karl Erik Lindström was born in 1925 and died in 2008. He was a Swedish painter and graphic designer.Lindström was one of the most famous contemporary artists in Sweden. Bengt Lindström graduated from Härnösand and moved to Stockholm in 1944, where he studied briefly at Konstfack and then at the Grünewald School of Painting. He also studied in Copenhagen and Chicago. From 1948, he lived and worked in Paris, where he studied at the painting schools of André Lhotes and Fernand Léger. He spent his years in Sweden, where he had a studio in Essvik, near Sundsvall.After his first paintings in the cubist sense, he developed a painting of colorful and spontaneous figures associated with the group COBRA. In 1954, Bengt Lindström had his first solo exhibition in Sweden. The international breakthrough came after an exhibition in Paris in 1958.Bengt Lindstrom made several public works in the form of murals and outdoor sculptures at Sundsvall-Timrå Airport in Timrå.Lindström's works are exhibited at the Contemporary Museum, the National Museum in Stockholm, the Norrköping Art Museum and the Kalmar Art Museum, among others, and are part of many private collections around the world.
