This rare Canestrari lounge chair with its matching ottoman by Italian designer Vittorio Varo is one of the most sculptural and comfortable lounge creations of the seventies. The generous volumes, organic curves and low free form silhouette are characteristic of the radical Italian design movement. This fully original set in natural leather brings an elevated and relaxed atmosphere that blends seamlessly with modern interiors as well as organic and Mediterranean inspired spaces.
The lounge chair features deep cushions with natural pleating and a soft enveloping structure. The matching ottoman completes the full recline position and creates an almost weightless seating experience. The colour and patina of the leather highlight the authentic character of the piece. The low metal sleigh bases give the form stability and a floating quality.
