This white Vitra Panton Chair is an iconic example of Danish design, designed by Verner Panton from a single piece of plastic.
The Panton Chair is one of the absolute milestones in the history of modern furniture design. It is the very first chair made entirely from a single piece of plastic and has no rear legs (a so-called cantilevered or legless chair).
Verner Panton (1926–1998) was a visionary and the absolute enfant terrible of Scandinavian design. While his Danish contemporaries clung to wood, craftsmanship, and understated functionalism, Panton made a radical choice for plastic, bright colors, and psychedelic shapes.
