Solid brass frame made of angle profile, highly polished and featuring metallic-colored lacquered segments; oxidation protection through special lacquer; tapered legs with feet; glass top inset from below with tension frame

Note: An online listing advertises individual Vereinigte Werkstätten side tables as "extremely rare, made of a gold alloy." These are, of course, also made of brass! Depending on age, sealant, environment, etc., brass can develop different oxidation colors. The color of the metal can generally be determined by the composition of the brass alloy (e.g., the higher the copper content, the redder the color) (see, for example, fashion jewelry). Otherwise, a clever gold dealer would have bought the tables long ago and melted them down; the profit would have been enormous!

Note... The photos are overexposed to show the pristine condition in detail! This makes golden tones more yellow and colors generally lighter. The shadowed areas, or those not directly illuminated by the camera light, best represent the true colors. Any gloss or grayish or milky areas in the photos are also due to the lighting and/or reflections. The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish.

Condition:
The table is in good to very good condition, both technically and visually. It is very well-maintained and shows only very minor signs of wear. We deliberately refrained from extensive restoration, as the table is far too well-preserved, and the usual oxidation of the brass (dark areas) is minimal after all these years. Furthermore, it is incomparable to the dents, scratches, or chips so often found on table legs and glass tops.
The table comes from the very well-kept home of an elderly lady, which was furnished with elegant design classics and high-quality furniture.
