An elegant set of six crystal glasses produced by the renowned Belgian glassmaker Val Saint Lambert, from the refined “Service Esneux” collection.
Entirely hand-crafted and hand-cut, these glasses beautifully demonstrate the exceptional quality and craftsmanship for which Val Saint Lambert is celebrated. The precise vertical cuts and faceted bases enhance the natural brilliance of the crystal, creating a captivating play of light. By candlelight, the glasses sparkle with remarkable depth and brilliance, bringing sophistication to any table setting.
Standing approximately 15 cm high and holding around 200 ml, these are the largest glasses listed in the original catalogue, where they are designated as “Gobelet”. Originally intended as water glasses, their generous size makes them equally suitable today for serving wine, reflecting the evolution of modern dining habits.
Dating from the Art Deco period, the design combines elegant geometry with timeless restraint. Despite being nearly a century old, these glasses feel remarkably contemporary and would look perfectly at home on a modern table, complementing both classic and minimalist interiors.
This model is documented in the official Val Saint Lambert catalogue (1945–1950), providing valuable provenance and confirming its place within the manufacturer’s historic production.

Val Saint Lambert, nestled in Seraing near Liège, Belgium, is a beacon of crystal craftsmanship with a legacy spanning nearly two centuries. Established in 1826 by chemist François Kemlin and engineer Auguste Lelièvre, the company transformed the remnants of the Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey into a thriving glassworks.
The 19th century marked a period of significant growth for Val Saint Lambert. By the early 1900s, the company employed over 5,000 workers, producing 120,000 pieces of glass daily. Their creations, renowned for exceptional quality and intricate designs, found admirers worldwide, including in Tsarist Russia and North America. A testament to their artistry is the “Vase of the Nine Provinces,” a monumental piece over 2 meters tall and weighing 200 kilograms, crafted for the 1894 World Exhibition in Antwerp.
The 20th century brought challenges, including the impacts of two World Wars and economic downturns. Despite these obstacles, Val Saint Lambert’s resilience ensured the preservation of its artisanal heritage.
