This medium-sized, upcycled vase lamp is an iconic piece of German ceramic design from the West German Pottery era. The lamp base is made from an original Scheurich fireplace vase – a very typical object from the 1960s and 70s.
The brown-beige gradient glaze flows over the angular form, giving the heavy ceramic an earthy appeal. Fireplace vases, in particular, are highly sought-after collector's items from the West German Pottery period.
The cylindrical lampshade provides a deliberate contrast: A high-quality fabric with a stylized cat motif brings lightness and humor to the design. The light shines softly through the fabric, creating a pleasant, cozy atmosphere – ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or as a striking standalone piece on sideboards and dressers.
The lamp is well-made and cordless. The modern battery-powered light source allows for maximum flexibility without a visible cable. However, the lamp can also be supplied with a cable for an additional €45 if a traditional connection is preferred. I have ready-made modules that can be screwed on.
Dimensions: Total height 46 cm, vase 19 cm, shade diameter 25 cm.
This vase lamp is a true one-of-a-kind piece: a piece of ceramic history, reinterpreted as a functional design object with personality. Ideal for lovers of West German pottery, cat lovers, and anyone looking for something special.
Two lamps are available. The price listed here is for one lamp.
