Unique wooden so-called “gentlemen’s wardrobe” in a mix of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles from the 1930s. The dark brown stained cabinet presents a stylish look thanks to the elegantly decorated double door based on natural forms. The cabinet is divided into a shelving section and a hanging section with a pull-out rail. The bottom section provides space for storing several pairs of shoes. The cabinet features beautiful decorated handles and rounded corners at the top. A lovely piece of modern antique. Art Nouveau (c. 1890–1910) was an international art movement, also known as Jugendstil, that broke with historical styles and advocated a new, organic design language. Characteristic features include undulating lines, asymmetry, and nature motifs. Men's wardrobes, designed with special compartments for men's clothing, became popular at the end of the Victorian era (circa 1880) and reached a peak between 1910 and the 1930s. These custom-made, compact cabinets (often called compactums) are designed to store suits, shirts, hats, and ties in the home.
