For the enthusiast of unique retail antiques and historical design: an impressive, 59-piece collection of authentic display supports made of solid pressed glass.
This rare set dates from the first half of the 20th century (approx. 1920-1930) and was used at the time in the window displays of upscale fashion boutiques.
Thanks to the enormous size of this lot, the set is perfectly suited for the consistent furnishing of a complete historical display cabinet, shop wall, hospitality interior, or as unique decorative material for stylists.
The 59-piece set consists of two complementary types of display material:
37x Glass Shoe Risers: Designed in various heights to create a dynamic depth effect (staircase effect) in a presentation. The angled, oval head with an upright heel stop elegantly puts objects in the spotlight. This model is made entirely of clear glass without markings, which is typical of early industrial bulk production for retailers. 22x Glass Shelf Support Columns: Characteristic hexagonal and octagonal glass columns with a flat top. At the time, these served as supports for glass shelves to create tiers in shop windows. The larger variants are also beautiful to use as hat stands or pedestals for small art objects.
Condition and authenticity: This concerns original pressed glass fixtures, approximately 100 years old. The characteristic press seams and heavy quality give the set a beautiful, weathered vintage look.
Given the age and intensive use in the past, there are slight signs of wear and a few small chips ('flea bites') on a number of supports. This is common for glassware from this period and does not detract from the sturdiness, stability, or fantastic decorative value of the entire lot.
