This three-legged plant/side table dates from the 1920s/1930s. Within Art Deco, there was also a Dutch variant: the "Amsterdam School," with its own distinctive style.
Typical features of the Amsterdam School style are the rounded shapes, which are reflected in this table's rounded top and bottom, and in the curved bend at the bottom of the legs. The Amsterdam School also used light and dark accents. See the edges of the table, the black "feet" on the bottom of the legs, and the dotted decoration on the legs.
The table is made of solid oak (no veneer). The entire piece has been expertly cleaned and restored with respect for the unique character of this nearly 100-year-old piece. The originally dark pieces have been refinished. It is in excellent condition. See the photos.
All the wood is finished with environmentally friendly hardwax oil. This oil penetrates the wood and seals the surface. This prevents rings and repels dirt. (Reapply every six months.)
