An ornamentally carved wooden bench from the garden of a historic villa in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. The region has traditionally had a large German/Tyrolean community. The bench was likely produced in the region itself, but may also have been imported from Germany. It is clearly made from a single, solid trunk of chestnut wood. These benches are now rare: one is listed for sale on 1stdibs and other websites via Google.
