Additional information about Dinieks (1935-2024):
Dinie Kuilman-Schipper, stage name Dinieks was a versatile painter/graphic artist.
She used a variety of techniques: oil paint, screen print, gouache, watercolor and collage.
Her earlier work often includes recognizable and figurative themes. In contrast, her later work is more abstract.
Her style has gradually evaluated to semi-abstract or even completely abstract.
Her screen prints are very graphic and often geometric.
Themes include still life, landscapes, cityscapes, human figures, or graphic representations.
She draws inspiration from the play of forms, the use of color and the tension between them.
Her use of color is often subdued and nuanced, but always clear.
She regularly works in series: from the first work the next arises, etc..
In her later abstract work it is also easy to see that she always thinks and designs from the same basic form.
In 2015, a large autographic book of her work was published: 'Dinieks, Autography in Word and Image'.
This book is also on her website. A video interview can also be viewed here. This is also on YouTube under her stage name Dinieks.
Exhibitions in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Tokyo, among others. These include solo, duo and group exhibitions.
