This piece of furniture is the iconic Tulip stool, designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1958. The stool is part of the famous Pedestal Collection, which Saarinen created to eliminate the "visual chaos" of traditional chair and table legs.
The stool features the signature tulip-shaped base, made of cast aluminum with a smooth white lacquer finish and a black leather cushion on a swivel seat.
This design is considered a classic of mid-century modern design.
