This impressive Raak Saturn chandelier is an iconic piece of Dutch design from the Space Age period. The design stands out due to the eight glass spheres with air bubbles, which float like planets around a central point and create a fascinating play of light.
The lamp is crafted from transparent glass and chrome-plated metal, with black wiring that contributes to the graphic silhouette. The spheres rest in metal rings, which enhances the floating effect. This model is a classic example of the innovative lighting designs for which Raak was known in the 1960s and 70s.
The fixture is in good vintage condition with an authentic patina befitting its age. The glass spheres are intact and the original structure has been preserved. The fixture has a diameter of 120 cm. The spheres are approximately 25 cm in diameter and feature a teardrop pattern.
This chandelier is a true statement piece for above a large dining table or in a spacious hallway. The design fits perfectly in both a Mid-Century Modern interior and a more eclectic, contemporary space, where it serves as a true eye-catcher. You will receive these new with the purchase.
