Curious late 19th century hand-painted porcelain tobacco pot from France. The white porcelain surface is decorated with floral motifs in green, pink, orange colors... It also has gilt details on the lid handle, on the rim of the lid and on the body of the jar. The word "Tabac" is written in the center, in black.
It is a jar in the style of the albarelos, a cylindrical ceramic container used in apothecaries to store solid or viscous substances. Its use for the conservation of tobacco is very successful, since it maintains the ideal humidity and temperature for preserving it.
