Product description
Designed in 1972 by Richard Sapper, the Tizio 50 desk lamp is now a design icon, featured in the permanent collection of the MoMA. The Tizio has two articulated arms and an adjustable head, all balanced by a varnished aluminum counterweight. Its innovative design lies in its construction: a transformer located in the lamp's base reduces the voltage from 230V to 12V and powers a halogen bulb via rods and push buttons that act as current conductors. It sits atop its rare steel base, which provides a height of 79cm from the base to the switch and up to 145cm to the lamp head. This particular Tizio 50 model has a new lamp head purchased from Voltex. There are some signs of wear, but the lamp is in perfect working order. It will be shipped disassembled via secure Colissimo delivery.
