This decorative ceramic plate, entitled "The Fish," is a creation by the Greek artist Alekos Fassianos, made in 1978. The work is distinguished by its central motif of a stylized fish, characteristic of the artist's visual language, combining expressive lines with a vibrant color palette.
The piece is crafted from glazed ceramic, featuring a white background adorned with painted motifs in blue and red, enhanced with gold details. The design depicts a fish resting on a platter, surrounded by graphic elements and the inscription "τὸ ψάρι" (the fish in Greek). On the reverse, the plate bears a printed explanatory text, the artist's handwritten signature, and the number 25/55, attesting to its status as a limited edition. An impressed mark is also visible in the material.
The plate is in good overall condition, retaining the brilliance of its colors and gilding. It features a fine network of cracks in the glaze, typical of ceramics from this period, which adds to its authentic character. The original wall-hanging system is present on the back.
