This teak secretary desk was designed by Nils Jonsson for the Danish manufacturer Tørring Møbelfabrik. The piece, manufactured in 1977, exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and functional elegance characteristic of the Scandinavian modern design movement.
Constructed from richly grained teak wood, the desk features a drop-down work surface that reveals a thoughtfully organized interior. The internal configuration includes three small shelves on the left and three compact drawers, with the central drawer cleverly incorporating a hidden mirror. Below the main workspace, three large drawers with integrated, sculpted wooden pulls provide substantial storage capacity. The piece retains its original maker's mark, confirming its Danish provenance.
The desk remains in good vintage condition, retaining a warm, authentic patina across its wooden surfaces. It is structurally sound and fully functional, preserving the integrity of its original mid-century construction.
